Ronel Lehmann, Founder

The roots of Finito go back nearly 30 years, to when Ronel Lehmann, the founder of the school, set about finding his first role with the IPS Group, a leading insurance recruitment firm. Immediately Ronel spent his time helping individuals find alternative employment, drawing on their strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, to match them to the employers and roles that best suited their skills and preferences.

He worked at two public relations firms, and in 1988 set up his own marketing and communications agency, Lehmann Communications. While running his marketing communications business, Ronel made it his policy to respond personally to every application, however it was received.

Ronel founded Finito in 2016, and it is the latest venture in his long and illustrious City career. He has been widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading communications experts, and has become well known for his crisis communications skills.

He has previously served on the Council of the University of Buckingham; as a director of an international Chamber of Commerce; chaired a £6.5 million Capital appeal for children’s hospice group Demelza; and assisted the Ballet Rambert Campaign Committee to raise £19.6 million for Britain’s National Dance Company. He is a former Trustee of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and Chairman of giveonthemobile.

He is a Governor of the City of London School, and in November 2015, was elected President of The John Carpenter Club, the school’s alumni association. Ronel is helping Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice to raise £10 million for a new state of the art building in Barnet, and the University of Buckingham seeking £30 million to build a new medical school, the first this country has seen for generations.

Ronel is on the Advisory Board of Curator’s Eye, a private forum where buyers engage directly with worldwide art dealers. He is a Freeman of the City of London, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Derek Walker, Course Director

Derek is the Lead Tutor on our Work Ready course, responsible for the content of the course and acting as the key mentor to students on the programme.

As a former Director of Careers at Saїd Business School, at the University of Oxford, Derek has many years’ experience in the management of careers guidance to students, and of working with employers from all sectors to understand their hiring needs and build long-term relationships with them. He had overall responsibility for careers provision for around 500 post-graduate students at the business school, and ensured students could access expert advice across all aspects of the job search, including via individual coaching.

Derek began his career in banking and finance, and worked as Head of Campus Recruiting at Barclays Capital before joining Saїd Business School in 2008. He is much in demand for the provision of careers and recruitment advice to higher education institutions and their students.

Colin Hudson, Programme Director

Colin is responsible for overseeing the Work Ready course and mentoring programme.

He is also Director of Career Development at Cranfield University, and established his leadership development and coaching practice in 2005 following 25 years in the energy and utilities industry in the UK and Northern Europe. He was previously Operations Director for British Gas, and has significant board-level leadership and management experience.

Colin has worked internationally and in a variety of business sectors as a coach, and has assisted a broad range of clients, including both teams and individuals.

He has a passion for developing others and helping people achieve their business and personal goals, and his style is intuitive, confident, challenging and pragmatic. He is used to working with people on the development of both their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, imparting training, coaching, mentoring and life skills to help others reach their full potential.

Professor Robert Campbell, Quality Assurance Director

Professor Robert is responsible for overseeing the Work Ready course and all our outputs, and ensuring our attendees always benefit from the highest possible standards.

He is also Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Bolton, and until March 2015 was Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic), at the University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Royal Society of Medicine, and the National Forum of Health and Wellbeing, as well as serving as a Governor of the UK College for Business and Computing, Chair of the NHS North West Advisory Committee for Clinical Excellence Awards, and Chair of the Bolton Virtual College for Care Leavers.

While serving as Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Bolton, Professor Robert led a review, restructure and revalidation of the University’s entire undergraduate portfolio, including the creation of a new curriculum framework, and as such he is deeply experienced in developing, maintaining and enhancing the quality and standards of taught programmes and the student experience.
