“I lost my father when I was eight years old. My mother, twenty-nine at the time, really struggled financially to bring up four very young children but she always made whatever sacrifices were necessary to ensure her children had the best possible education; giving us all an opportunity to make something of ourselves. Philanthropy takes many forms and although I am immensely proud to have raised more than £30m for charities all around the world and personally donated more than £2m, all of us can – and in my humble opinion should – do whatever we can to make the world a better place. Giving our time, offering emotional support, sending someone a note to let them know you are thinking of them, participating in a community project – or, inspired by the amazing work of Finito, give another the same chance my mother gave us…..generosity I always vowed to pay forward.”
