With more than four decades of international experience spanning law, banking, private equity and corporate leadership, Ron has advised, invested in, and led businesses across multiple industries and jurisdictions globally. Ron began his professional career as a corporate lawyer in San Francisco before joining Schlumberger as in-house counsel. During this period, he also served as a guest lecturer in international tax and finance at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. After moving to London in 1983, Ron established permanent residency in 1989 after marrying Linda, a British citizen. During his time in London, Ron held several senior positions within the banking sector before co-founding a private equity firm. During his career, leading more than 50 management buyouts, complex acquisitions, and strategic transformations. His experience spans the financial, technology, energy, mining, consumer, and communications sectors. He is particularly passionate about helping others navigate career transitions and develop the confidence to lead through uncertainty and change. Beginning with his daughter’s friends, Ron has for many years informally advised students, graduates, and early-career professionals, always making himself available to offer guidance, encouragement and practical support. Known for his generosity with both his time and advice, Ron believes that some of the most rewarding professional experiences come from helping others recognise their potential. Alongside his professional career, Ron has dedicated significant time to charitable and community initiatives, including serving as Chairman and committee member of fundraising organisations supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and the Royal National Institute of Blind People. Ron maintains an active lifestyle as an avid snow skier, golfer while volunteering to teach Chen Tai Chi to the over 65s. Ron holds a B.A. in Finance, a B.S. in Economics, an M.A. in International Management, and a J.D. During law school, he spent a year studying at the Sorbonne in Paris.
